In cartoon news Top Cat: The Movie (Based on the classic Hanna Barbera series) Will be finally debuting in the US theaters this summer.

It might not be the nicest looking toon movie, but at least it’s something different from the usual CGI stuff that’s coming out nowadays.

I gotta say, this is certainly a breather from some of the more recent CGI-adapted horrors brought to the big screens. Sure, the backgrounds are kinda blocky, but the flash-style animation is pretty decent though for a Hanna Barbera cartoon. I can’t say too much about the characterizations or the voices, since I wasn’t all too familiar with the original series, but it is unbelievably relieving to see not an ounce of raunchiness incorporated in this adaptation (at least from the looks of this trailer) when so many adaptations require fart jokes, poop jokes, swearing, modern pop culture references, and the like to get audiences in.

I’ll probably see it when I learn more information about it. I’d love to see more of that classic toon-humor that seems to have lost it’s vibe over the decades.

Nah it’s okay, I never liked Top Cat, so I probably wasn’t going to watch this movie anyway. Carry on.
